LARGO, Fla. — One person was hospitalized early Monday in a fire at the Home2 Suites Extended Stay Hotel in Largo.

According to Largo Fire Rescue, crews were dispatched to a two-alarm fire at the hotel in the 10100 block of Ulmerton Road just after 5:30 a.m.

Upon arrival, crews found fire on an exterior portion of the building.

Crews evacuated all occupants of the hotel and extinguished the fire.

One patient was transported to a local hospital. That person’s condition was not released.

Authorities said the incident was turned over to hotel management. The cause and origin of the fire is under investigation.
