ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. — The injury frustrations continue for Shane McClanahan and the Tampa Bay Rays.

The team announced Thursday that McClanahan has been placed on the 15-day injured list for the second time in a span of a few weeks. The Rays said the pitcher is dealing with forearm tightness.

McClanahan allowed five runs in the third inning of Tampa Bay's 7-2 loss Wednesday night to the New York Yankees.

“The Rays are in the process of gathering further information and updates will be provided when available," the team said, according to the team's website.

McClanahan also went on the 15-day IL on July 1.

The Rays begin a three-game series at the Detroit Tigers on Friday night.
