With Idalia moving into the Gulf of Mexico and approaching Florida this week, here's a list of sandbag locations.

Make sure to check back often.

PINELLAS COUNTY

The City of St. Petersburg offers free sandbags for residents all year long, five days per week during non-emergencies, at the Pavement and Traffic Operations Building (1744 9th Ave. N.). This location will closed during a declared emergency. 

Due to the tropical activity this week, sandbags will be issued at the following locations. These locations may open earlier depending on direction and/or tidal conditions.

Each household receives a maximum of 10 sandbags; Staff will be on hand to assist seniors and others who may be unable to fill and load their own sandbags; Residents must provide proof of residence (such as a driver's license) to receive sandbags.

The City of Pinellas Park will open multiple self-service sandbag sites for residents only. Residents can get up to 10 sandbags each. Residents must show a water bill and/or valid driver's license indicating they are a resident of Pinellas Park in order to receive their sandbags. Staff will be onsite to assist. HILLSBOROUGH COUNTY

County-run sandbag locations have reached capacity for Monday, Aug. 28. They will re-open Aug. 29 from 7 a.m. to noon.

PASCO COUNTY

NEW: Pasco County is closing sandbag sites Tuesday evening, so if you need sandbags to protect your property from flooding, be prepared to bring your own bags and a shovel and be off the roads by 8 p.m. 

Pasco County Government offices will be closed Wednesday; however, our Customer Service Center is answering calls 24 hours a day at 727-847-2411.

PREVIOUS: Pasco County Government is reminding residents that two sandbag stations are available to help protect property in low-lying areas from potential flooding.  Sand and sandbags are available at the following locations:

Pasco County Public Works (C-Barn), 30908 Warder Road, San Antonio

Magnolia Valley Golf Course, 7223 Massachusetts Ave., New Port Richey

Both sandbag locations are self-serve and are open 24 hours to Pasco County residents.  Sand and sandbags will be restocked between 9 a.m. and 9 p.m.

Please bring a shovel and be prepared to fill your own sandbags.

Dade City has added a self-serve sandbag site that will be open 24 hours. 

NEW: Pasco County is opening additional sandbag stations to help protect property from potential flooding.

The City of New Port Richey and the City of Dade City are also providing sandbags to city residents daily at the following locations:

POLK COUNTY

Polk County is making sandbags available throughout the county at Roadway Maintenance Units on Tuesday, August 29. Locations below will be open from 8 a.m. – 3 p.m.

A maximum of 10 sandbags will be provided to each household to help prevent water intrusion into the home.

Residents living in flood prone areas are encouraged to sandbag their homes.

HERNANDO COUNTY

Residents will be able to get sandbags at the following locations from 8 a.m. - 5 p.m.

CITRUS COUNTY

Two self-serve sandbag sites will open at the following locations:

• Homosassa Community Park, 4210 S Grandmarch Ave, Homosassa

• Bicentennial Park, 501 N Baseball Pt, Crystal River
