FLORIDA — From Tampa Bay to the Big Bend, and into parts of north Florida, Idalia left behind a path of destruction along parts of Florida’s west coast.

Hurricane Idalia hit Florida’s Big Bend region Wednesday morning as a powerful Category 3 storm.

The biggest impacts were from Idalia’s storm surge, even in the Tampa Bay area.

If you would like to help those affected by Idalia, here is a list of organizations you can donate to.

The Salvation Army

The Salvation Army is mobilizing its disaster response teams and mobile feeding units in Florida, Georgia and the Carolinas to respond to the impacts of Hurricane Idalia. Your donation will help provide emergency aid, food, drinks, emotional and spiritual care, and long-term recovery services to the disaster’s survivors.  

American Red Cross

Make a monetary donation for those impacted by Idalia or donate blood for disaster victims.

Care USA

The organization is providing cash assistance to those impacted by Idalia.

GoFundMe

GoFundMe has created a general hurricane 2023 relief fund for those impacted by natural disasters this hurricane season.

Florida Disaster Fund

The Florida Disaster Fund assists Florida’s communities as they recover during times of emergency or disaster. The funds are distributed to service organizations that will serve individuals within their communities with disaster response and recovery. For Hurricane Idalia, all administrative and credit card fees have been waived so that 100% of every donation is used to help Floridians recover.

United Way of Florida

The UWOF fund will assist the communities in Florida impacted by Hurricane Idalia.
