The City of Seminole is holding their 2024 Hurricane Preparedness Expo on Wednesday, May 22, at the Seminole City Park with Spectrum Bay News 9 Meteorologist Brian McClure serving as speaker.

It will take place from 5 p.m. - 7 p.m. in the Park View Room at 7464 Ridge Road.

The event will focus on educating the community about the importance of preparation and planning for hurricane season as it starts on June 1.

Most predictions are calling for above-normal tropical activity this year fueled by exceptionally warm ocean waters and an expected shift from El Nino to La Nina. It is crucial for residents to be prepared as hurricane season in Florida goes through the end of November.
