TAMPA — The Tampa Police Department said Tuesday that a second suspect has been arrested and charged in a fatal crash that happened June 3.

Daniel Hernandez, 19, was charged with vehicular homicide and leaving the scene, unlawful racing on a highway and reckless driving with serious bodily injury.

The morning crash was at the intersection of N. Dale Mabry Highway and W South Avenue and involved two vehicles.

Two victims were inside a 2015 Nissan Versa. One of them, a white female in her early 60s, died at a local hospital. The driver, a white male in his early to mid-70s, was injured.

On the day of the crash, police arrested 22-year-old Andy Moya Robainia. Investigators said he was driving a 2011 BMW at a high rate of speed and that, "according to witnesses appeared to be racing." His vehicle hit the Nissan Versa, police said.

Police at the time said they were looking for another vehicle suspected of racing with Robainia. Tips led police to Hernandez, who was interviewed, charged and taken to Orient Road Jail.

Robaina was charged June 3 with one felony count of vehicular homicide and one misdemeanor count of unlawful racing on a highway.

The names of the victims weren't released.
