Kelli Fisher, 42, had not been seen since July 18 when she drove her aunt's vehicle.

Her body was found at a neighbor's house on Prescott Street South when a fire broke out Sunday.

Fisher's family has been notified.

Fisher was last seen leaving her home and driving her aunt’s car. That vehicle was found two days later in an abandoned lot — the door left open with three cell phones and cash inside — that police said did not belong to Fisher.

“Our detectives have spent a lot of time the last week trying to track down and trace who those items belong to,” said St. Pete Police Major Shannon Halstead during a press conference.

Fisher’s family is asking for privacy at this time as they mourn her death and make funeral arrangements.

“She’s a mother, she’s a grandmother, she’s my only sister, she’s a niece. And we deserve to have answers,” Fisher’s sister, Latifa Jackson, said.

During the press conference, Fisher’s brother, Johnny Murray, said he hopes some in the community will come forward with more information.

“You know, the streets talk, and so the streets know what’s going on, so the streets need to do the right thing and speak up, and let us know what’s going on so we can get this resolved as soon as possible,” he said.
