TAMPA, Fla. — Fall classes start Monday at the University of South Florida.

Last week, freshmen moved into their new homes on and off campus in Tampa. USF officials said about 7,400 students will be living in dorms with another 7,000 living off campus.

The university hosted “The Week of Welcome" with activities for freshmen to participate in and help them get settled on campus.

USF President Rhea Law said she wants incoming students to know that the school is there to support them.

"We have such a great team of people,” Law said. “And they come together because this is what they work for. Our job is to provide a quality education and success, and opportunities for our students.

“And when we see that we are welcoming them in and giving them a great experience, we know we are going to be successful."

The fall semester also begins today at the University of Tampa and St. Leo University.
