FLORIDA — The NOAA Hurricane Hunters on Wednesday shared a video from the eye of Hurricane Helene.

The view is from NOAA WP-3D Orion “Miss Piggy.”

Helene is expected to become a major hurricane on Thursday.

These kinds of flights are used to gather data to refine intensity forecasts and support hurricane research, according to NOAA.
