EATONVILLE, Fla. — Former President Bill Clinton rallied hundreds in Eatonville on Sunday, urging the nation’s first historically Black town to support Vice President Kamala Harris on the final day of early voting.
“This is a simple choice,” the 42nd president said. “We are the best placed country in the world for tomorrow, but you got to show up.”
Florida Democrats leaned upon the Clinton family’s star power in the final weekend before Election Day.
In addition to the former president’s appearance, former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton rallied Saturday in Tampa.
“Florida is a tough state,” said on Saturday the former Secretary of State, who lost her presidential bid to former President Donald Trump in 2016. “But we’ve got a lot of tough people here.”
Indeed, Florida Democrats are facing an uphill battle. According to the Department of State, Florida Republicans are outpacing Democrats in early voter turnout.
Meanwhile, Florida Republicans say they unphased by the Clinton family visit.
“I’m not sure these are the best mouthpieces for the Democratic Party,” said Florida GOP Chair Evan Power.
Election Day is Nov. 5.
