TAMPA, Fla. — Busch Gardens Tampa Bay is saying goodbye to its SandSerpent coaster next month.

The park on Thursday announced the coaster, which has been at the park for 19 years, will permanently close in July to “make way for an exciting new addition.”
The last day to ride the coaster will be July 9.
SandSerpent, a wild-mouse style coaster, opened in 2004 as Cheetah Chase, but was renamed when Busch Gardens opened Cheetah Hunt in 2011.
The coaster features small cars that make tight turns as they move along the track, climbing five stories high.
Pass members will have early morning access to SandSerpent from June 30 through July 4.
Busch Gardens has not yet announced what will be replacing the coaster.
SandSerpent is one of 10 coasters at Busch Gardens. The park’s lineup includes Cobra’s Curse, SheiKra, Tigris and Iron Gwazi.
