NEW PORT RICHEY, Fla. — A man was taken to the hospital after a shooting on U.S. 19 Sunday in what police are calling a road rage incident.

The shooting and investigation shut down the southbound lanes of U.S. 19 south of Main Street, in front of a loan business. The road is now back open.

New Port Richey police say a motorcyclist is being held for questioning not far from U.S. 19.

A victim was taken to Bayonet Point Hospital with a gunshot wound to the stomach. Police say the wound is non-life-threatening.
