HILLSBOUROUGH COUNTY, Fla. — Reverend Morris Hintzman died at the age of 82 on September 1.
On Saturday, dozens of people gathered for his funeral to pay their respects.
Born in 1941 in Wisconsin, Hintzman spent much of his life serving god and uplifting the Tampa Bay community through Metropolitan Ministries.
“I was lucky to call him a friend, a mentor, and a pastor,” President and CEO of Metropolitan Ministries Tim Marks said. “He was a real difference maker in Tampa Bay.”
Metropolitan Ministries credits the Reverend for serving more than 47 million meals to the homeless, providing nearly 3 million nights of safe shelter, and impacting the lives of more than 3 million children.
“He wanted to make a difference in our community,” Marks said. “He wanted to instill hope, the hope that he had from his faith. He lived out that hope and then he instilled hope in so many others to come alongside him to make a difference for communities and families and individuals that are suffering.”
Metropolitan Ministries impacts the lives of more than 90,000 individuals and families, as well as more than 150,000 children every single year.
